Canonica Trail

The trail is located on the north side of the Poggio di Montieri. Starting from the Podere Folavento to the asphalted road leading up the hill from the village. It is mostly uphill with some short, steep ramps in the first part and some technical passages in the second part. Towards the end one will pass the ruins of the San Niccolò Basilica, which was built in the 11th century. A “hexpetale” church unique in Italy, of which there are very few throughout Europe. There are some places with magnificent views of Gerfalco and the top of the Cornate.
